ENERGY PRODUCTION BY SOURCE
Energy production from fossil fuels historically peaked between 2020 and 2030, and then declined inexorably in favor of renewables.

URBAN, RURAL AND NEORURAL POPULATION
Total urban, rural and neorural population, with estimates to 2078 and UN projections to 2150. Projections are based on the UN World Urbanization Prospects and related median fertility scenario.

WORLD POPULATION AND PROJECTED GROWTH RATE
Population projections to 2150 are based on the UN median population scenario. World population projections are based on historical editions of the United Nations Population Outlook.

THE GROWTH OF SUPERCOMPUTER POWER
The growth in supercomputer power, measured as the number of floating-point operations performed per second (FLOPS) by the largest supercomputer in a given year. Floating-point operations are needed for very large or very small real numbers, or for computations that require a large dynamic range. It is therefore a more accurate measure than simple instructions per second.
